| Moss Landing Marine Laboratories established a weather monitoring system November 17, 2000. It measures wind speed and direction using an R.M. Young Anemometer. An Eppley Pyranometer and a LiCor Quantum PAR sensor to measure light. Pressure is detected using a Coastal Environmental Systems Barometer. A Texas Electronics Rain Gauge determines rain levels, and a Vaisala Humidity Sensor and YSI Temperature Sensor measure air temperature and relative humidity. |
| All data is collected using a Zeno 3200 Data Acquisitioner. Data is sampled every second. It is averaged every five seconds to a display in the front lobby of the MLML building. Data is averaged every minute and recorded into daily data files on a computer in the Physical Oceanography Lab. |
